I Built the System I Wish I Had Found
I spent years and tens of thousands in coaching programmes that told me there was nothing in purpose — that my calling could not sustain a business, that I needed to choose between impact and income, that the marketplace and the ministry were fundamentally separate worlds. I believed it for longer than I should have. And it cost me time, money, and the confidence to step into what I now know I was always meant to build.
What changed was not a new idea. It was a reframe — a theological one. When I returned to the Parable of the Talents and read it not as a story about money but as a direct instruction about stewardship, something shifted. The servant who buried his talent was not praised for his caution. He was rebuked for his fear. And I recognised, uncomfortably, that I had been burying mine.
